Welcome To Bling Canes 90210!
If you are someone or know someone that likes bling, quality and style, you have come to the right place. As a woman who has used a cane, walker or wheelchair since the age of 13, I know how important your appearance is to your self-esteem. After many years of being told I would not be able to walk as an adult, I am happy to say I am with my beautiful canes. I attended nursing school and spent the last year on crutches. Despite the challenges, I had a very successful nursing career of over 25 years. Known for my fashion sense and style, I would get stopped and asked where I got my beautiful canes. I decided to share what I found with others. Carrying something beautiful brightens your day, even when they are difficult. As an RN, I know the importance of using assistive devices for stability and safety. I personally find these canes do that for me. I love to coordinate them with my outfits so I change them daily and add a bow, heart, bracelet, or belt to the outfit and I feel very put together.
Please enjoy them and share with those you love.
Sending light, love and healing your way,
- Arlene, RN
TIPS
Talk to your doctor or physical therapist for your specific situation but normally the hand you hold the cane with is on the opposite side of the injury, but sometimes it is used on the same side.
Make sure that the height of the cane is correct to avoid additional discomfort or injury. Typically, the average height person uses a 36 inch cane. You measure the cane with shoes on. The handle of the cane should be equal to the height of your hip bone ( the greater trochanter of the femur) which is the bump you feel on the lateral (outer aspect) of your hip. This allows for the proper bend in the elbow for more efficient use of your cane. See the VIDEO for a step by step tool to adjust your beautiful cane.
How To Adjust Your Cane
1. Undo the LOCKING NUT and move it to the bottom of the cane.
2. Move the LOWER SHAFT to the required height.
3. Move the closest DOT to the lower edge of the UPPER SHAFT.
4. Twist the LOWER SHAFT so the DOTS are in-line with the handle.
5.Ensure that the LOCKING PIN has engaged FULLY with the required hole.
6. Replace and tighten the LOCKING NUT.
7. The safety pin MUST be fully engaged in one of the 10 holes!
The tip of the cane should be rubber. The rubber tip of the cane grabs the floor so make sure it is in good shape and that the tread is not worn down. You can replace the tips with similar ones or other types depending upon your particular needs.
